( - Bef 21 Jan 1828)
1) Albertus received 100 acres valued at $2145.75.
2) Frederick received two parcels of land of 50 acres and 49 acres valued at $1546.66.
3) Conrad received 20 acres valued at $585.24.
4) David received 74 acres valued at $1687.50.
5) Henry received 15 acres valued at $128.70
6) John received 15 acres valued at $180.78
7) His six sons purchased 72 acres in common for $286.26
John Heffner had transferred land to John, Henry, and Conrad in his lifetime. Each of his six sons paid Daniel 1/13 of the value of the land they received in the above distribution. The 15 acres that John, Jr. received was for land that his father had purchased after his will was written. John, Jr. paid each of the heirs for their share of this land.
John Heffner left each of his daughters money in his will. Elizabeth who had married Henry Caufman was deceased. Her heirs were to receive $400 within 12 months after they became of age. Margaret who had married Philip Wile was deceased. Her heirs (except for John "he being a disobedient child) were to receive $400 within 12 months after they became of age. Catharine was to receive the interest on $600 during her lifetime with the principal going to her heirs after her death. Barbara married to Peter Helman was to receive the interest on $400 after her husband's death with the principal going to her heirs after her death. She also received the house where she lived and one acre of property. Her husband was to receive 20 acres if he paid John Heffner the $100 he owed him during his lifetime. If not, his daughter was to receive $100 more in her inheritance. Mary was to receive the interest on $600 after her husband's death with the principal going to her heirs after her death. She also received a house and five acres. Susanna who was single received $800 and certain items.
John Heffner's six sons were to pay this money to their sisters or their heirs in eight equal yearly payments after his death. If Frederick or Albertus were minors when he died, they could make eight equal yearly payments to their sisters after they became 21.
The heirs of John Heffner peitioned the Court at different times to receive the amounts due them. It appears that the heirs of John Heffner were not paid the amounts due them by the executors unless they petitioned the Court for payment. Levi Heffner, a grandson of John Heffner, petitioned the Court in 1872 to be appointed administrator to handle the remaining money in John Heffner's estate since the executors had died. There was $846.91 in this account when Levi Heffner filed a final account with the Court in 1872.
Elizabeth, Margaret, and Catharine had each received $200 (their mother's portion from their grandfather) separate from their father's bequests to them. It is not clear if they had received the $200 or just the interest on it. John, Jr. had also received $200, his mother's portion. This would indicate that these four children of John Heffner had a different mother from the other children.
