Notes
Birth
He was eight months old when he was enumerated in the 1860 census for Redbank Township, Armstrong County on 23 June 1860. The 1860 census is being used to determine an approximate birthdate for him since he was born by 23 June 1860 when the census was taken. His birthdate in the 1900 census for Armstrong County is October, 1859. This fits the information given in the 1860 census. His death certificate does not give his date of birth but gives his age as 66 years in 1927 when he died. He would have been born about 1861 based on the information in his death certificate. This is incorrect since he was already eight months old when he was enumerated on 23 June in the 1860 census.
Marriage
The marriage license application for W. T. Himes and Mary McKelvey gives a marriage date of 9 March 1881 for he and his first wife Rebecca Hetrick but the 1900 census shows they were married 22 years. The information in the census is being used for an approximate marriage date.Endnotes
