Charity MYERS
(Abt 1822 - Bef 27 Apr 1868)
Charity Myers was considered "a lunatic and non compos mentis...and incompetent to unite in the execution of a deed.." according to a special act passed by the Pennsylvania House of Representatives and Senate on the 14 May 1857. This act gave her husband John Conner permission to apply to the Blair County Court for a trustee to execute and deliver a deed to George B. Cramer for a tract of land of one acre or less he had sold to him. The trustee was to give bond that the proceeds of the sale of the land were to be applied to pay the expenses of keeping and maintaining Charity Conner. John and Charity Conner's children were living in different households in the 1860 census. It is not known when she died.
There is a Margaret Conner living in dwelling 667, family 651 in Altoona, Blair County, Pennsylvania in the 1860 census that is listed as insane. She was born about 1820 and is living by herself in the East Ward of Altoona. This may be the same person.
