Notes
Property
This is the same property that Abraham Troutman bought from Enoch Buffington in 1839. After Abraham's death, his children sold their shares in this property to Jacob Troutman and Mary Troutman.Property
George W. and Elizabeth Troutman and Benjamin F. and Sarah Troutman sold their interest in 82 acres to Mary Troutman (wife of Jacob Troutman) for $285.George W., Benjamin F. and Jacob Troutman were sons and heirs of Abraham Troutman. The other heirs of Abraham Troutman sold their interest in the 82 acres to their brother Jacob Troutman. It is odd that George W. and Benjamin F. sold their shares to Jacob's wife rather than to him as the other heirs. Perhaps the brothers did not get along.
Property
William Brooks and Sarah his wife, John Hause and Elizabeth his wife, Henry Troutman and Catharine his wife, George J. Snyder and Susannah his wife, John Milliron and Hannah his wife, and Daniel A. Freedline and Polly his wife transferred 82 acres to Jacob Troutman for $1. Sarah Brooks, Elizabeth Hause, Henry Troutman, Susannah Snyder, Hannah Milliron, Polly Freedline, and Jacob Troutman were children of Abraham Troutman. This deed was "made to confirm and ratify a deed for the said described tract of land between the same parties, dated the 3 May 1877" recorded in Volume 55, page 289 in Armstrong County, Pennsylvania.Endnotes
