Marriage
Gilbert lists his parents as Philip Hetrick and Annie Belle Smith on his application for his marriage license but these were his grandparents. His mother was Sarah Ann Hetrick but his father is unknown. Perhaps this is why he listed his grandparents as his parents.Endnotes
