Individual Details
John Adam HETRICK
(Abt 1761 - Bef Mar 1810)
There were five male Hetricks in the Himmel Church records having children baptized prior to 1800: John Nicholas Hetrick married to Anna Catherine Brosius, , Christopher Hetrick married to Anna Barbara, Adam Hetrick married first to Maria Catherine Brosius and second to Maria Margaretha Brosius, Peter married to Johanna, and Jacob married to Margaretha. There was also a Maria Catharina Hetrick married to a John George Brosius in the Himmel Church records before 1800. All of the above Brosius persons were children of John Nicholas Brosius. Nicholas Hetrick's father was Christopher Heydrich according to his marriage record at Christ Evangelical Church in Berks County, Pennsylvania. Although there is no known record connecting the other four male Hetricks (Christopher, Adam, Peter, and Jacob) and Maria Catharina Hetrick to Christopher Hetrick, he may be their father also.
The guardianship petition by Mary Hetrick, widow and relict of Adam Hetrick, for Leonard in March 1810 in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania states he left issue seven children. The Jefferson County History on page 279 lists seven children for Adam Hetrick: Jacob, Nicholas, Christophel, Adam, Leonard, Mrs. Barbara Himes, and Eve. Since there are baptismal records for 11 children by two wives, perhaps Maria Catharina born 1783, Maria Margaretha born 1785, Anna Maria born 1796, and Johann George born 1798 had died prior to March 1810.
