I have stated again and again that Thomas Prater was marred to Mary (PROB. Mackay OR Powel) !!!!!!! Some early reseachers gained membership to the DAR with the information that Mary's last name was MacKay....... but that's it !!!! I have found NOTHING to indicate that her last name was MacKay. As to the Powell name....... other early researchers made claims that Mary was a sister or daughter to Thomas Powell, who Thomas Prater was indentured to for 5 years. BUT I have found NOTHING to indicate that this is true. Thus I put in my files AND have given this same file to others that wife of Thomas Prater (Prather) was Mary.........(prob. MacKay or Powell). -- Gary Prather
