Individual Details
Dr. Asa White NICKELL
(16 Aug 1872 - )
!NOTE: 1900 WV Census: Asa enumerated with "Thomas W. Hale, b-i-l". Asa wasn't married until about 1906, so this would have to be a sister's husband. We don't show a sister, so we must be missing some children of John Smith NICKELL.
Asa was a specialist in Internal Medicine and was said to be easily one of the foremost physicians in Kentucky at his time. He did post-graduate work at John Hopkins University after graduating from the University of Kentucky School of Medicine. He was also a Mason and a member of all the leading civic organizations in Louisville, KY, where he lived.
Asa loaned Millard NICKELL's son Melbourn money to finish his last year of medical school.
