Individual Details

Milton Anderson NICKELL

(3 Dec 1814 - 15 Apr 1855)

Milton and Nancy's farm was on Blackwater Creek, in an area which perhaps was in Menifee Co., after it was formed from Morgan Co., KY, in 1869. Nancy remained on the farm until her death, 20 years after the death of Milton.

27 Aug 1879: Benjamin F. WELLS, William N. NICKELL, John S. NICKELL, and Sarah E. MAXEY sold to Asa B. NICKELL (brother of Milton) the old Milton NICKELL farm on Blackwater Creek, in Menifee County, on the Morgan County line.

For some reason Benjamin F. Wells signed the above deed transfer, as well as the children of Milton. He may have been connected through James B. (another son of Milton) who had died 5 years earlier.

[William B. Prater's will lists Nancy NICKELL. Have not found Nancy's husband yet. Update: 1/97 psw update - now believed to be Milton A. Nickell.]

[ I did find a Nancy Prater who married Milton A. Nickell. I have no info on Nancy other than her name. I do know that Milton was the son of "Preacher Joe" Nickell (b.1792) and Rachel Kash (b.1794) and they had a total of 12 children. Milton A.(b.1814), Gilly Ann Stewart (b.1816), Dulcena (b.1818), James Kash (b.1820), Evaline (b.1822) & Phebe Jane (b. 1822) (Twins), Miles W.
